Shinsadong Tiger expresses his amazement over “Fiction” winning ‘Song of the Year’

Hit composer Shinsadong Tiger recently sat down with Star News to express his feelings on B2ST‘s “Fiction” winning the ‘Song of the Year’ award at the ‘2011 KBS Music Festival‘.
He began, “I heard about the news through TV, and it was just so surprising that I couldn’t believe it.”
Shinsadong Tiger is the composer behind not only “Fiction”, but plenty of other hits of the year like T-ara‘s “Roly Poly“.
The composer continued, “I talked with the members on the phone immediately after they received the award and we were all just too surprised to believe it. A thousand emotions crossed my mind to think that a song I had worked on with friends that I had known and suffered with since their past was able to receive such an award. I was really apologetic to B2ST because I was criticized a lot for using autotune. ‘Fiction’ is the song that I came out with after much deliberation, and I think it gave me a fresh turnaround in addition to being one of the most meaningful songs of the year.”
Concluding, he stated, “I truly cannot believe that a day like this has come. I’ll work harder to return the favor with better songs.”

Cube CEO Hong Seung Sung, Shinsadong Tiger, and more come together to launch the “Modern K Music Academy”

A bevy of prominent individuals from the Korean music industry have come together to establish Korea’s first ever ‘musician incubation system’ called the “Modern K Music Academy“.
Cube Entertainment CEO Hong Seung SungModern Music Academy CEO Kim Hyung Kyu,Rainbow Bridge CEO Kim Jin Woo, composers Kim Do Hoon and Shinsadong Tiger, and lyricistsChoi Kap Won and Choi Sung Jin have come together to create a system that will grow and secure artists for the future of Hallyu.
Utilizing Modern Music Academy’s 12 years of experience as its base, the group will be combining it with Rainbow Bridge’s music consulting program to ‘incubate’ and train musicians in both Korea and overseas.
Because Korea doesn’t have a rookie development system, the system is expected to create waves for smaller agencies that don’t have the funds to discover and train their own talents for extensive periods of time.

110719 Shinsadong, "My best small success, BEAST's 'Fiction'"

A hit maker with his own name, Shinsadong Tiger thinks that their 'success' is different from the usual criteria.

Shinsadong meets with the reporter and said confidently that BEAST's 'Fiction' is one of their small but great success. At the same time, 'Fiction' is shown by BEAST with faithful B2UTY, with a unique and clear style showing a different side to the song.

Shinsadong explained "Throughout since their debut, I thought BEAST needed a change. I helped how the album looked melodically and I wanted to put the unique ability of a vocal so that it fits the song nicely, like how I wanted it to be ". In fact, the success of the song to be placed as first place was not the real intention of Shinsadong.

"Honestly, I got the sound inspiration on the first day while sitting in front of the monitor, checking the positions of the charts and it is a lie if i said that it is not a burden to make it to number 1. Then the following came as song guidelines whether will it be there or not."

'Fiction' really did succeed in showing a different image of BEAST from this song. Through 'Fiction', it is true that BEAST gains more popularity as it really reaches through many layers of interest of enthusiasts.

Shinsadong also has plans to work with BEAST more in the future. "Beast are not without their songs but to make their songs twice as hit, I will take in as their producer. But now at the moment, this BEAST team and the members is a pleasure to work with. There is no reason to change their enjoyment and money."

At the meantime, BEAST is currently embarking on their Asian tour fanmeeting. They've shown great success recently in Malaysia and Singapore, Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, and followed by China.
