[NEWS] 111227 'World Tour', BEAST up to the front "we are prepared to eat any insults"

[Billboard Korea] This year's songs of 'On Rainy Days' 'Fiction' has made the big dreams of BEAST as Hallyu stars come true. And here comes their world tour. This year, by using United Cube Concert as the tittle, they went to the London, America, Japan, Brazil and others and came back to be known as global stars. Next year, starting from 4th of February in Seoul, in 21 cities around 14 countries and expected to bring in 200,000 audience, they'll be heading to Germany (Berlin), London, Spain, US (New York, LA, San Francisco), Canada (Vancouver, Toronto), Singapore, Japan (Tokyo, Nagoya, Kobe), Thailand (Bangkok), China (Shanghai), Taiwan, Indonesia, Hong Kong and the Philippines.

It's not a surprising challenge though Beast are rookies at world tours. World star, Rain, debuted solo and took 4 years before having his own world tour and it's true that in fact they only take half in comparison, and also much faster than popular group, Super Junior, to be in Japan in 4 years. With this big plan taking up in big venues, it surprised themselves too. During the press conference on the 26th, at Lotte World in Seoul, BEAST said "last year, when we won the trophy as number 1 for the first time, people were making fun of us, saying 'what are you being as number 1'. But now, even being number 1 you don't have to stick a finger (T/N:blaming on someone). The opening of our first concert, there will sure be a lot of people making fun like 'what kind of solo concert is that'. I'm not blaming anyone. Today, we can eat in the insults but next year we'll also be taking the awards so that we can be the proud BEAST"

BEAST's world tour will be called 'Beautiful Show'. The members are given the power to control from the production meetings to stage direction. To the large screens as well as the various video and lighting effects, 3D special effects will also be used. With 150 minutes used, to produce this dazzling stage is expected to take about 20billion won. Locally in Asia, Europe, North America as well as South America, this event will be reproduced the same.

World Tour after 2 years of debut, this was so they could pursue with the 'spirit of pioneer' (T/N: the driven spirit to someone who opens up new areas of thought or development). Member Yong Junhyung said "BEAST first concert was also held during our early days. But we have to tackle and tolerate on many obstacles and prejudices. Although this idea of world tour is kind of sudden and 'panic', it should be this time that we should show off our 'pioneer spirit', that if you can be successful in this, you'll be able to hold on".

This year, BEAST has been facing many challenges around the country and expresses their regrets on their stage environment. Member Yoon Doojoon stated that "London and Brazil are somewhat unfamiliar to K-Pop, as they are a country that really specialize in hip-hop. The feature songs and performances often do not fit with our colors. The projection of the stage are not provided (London), and we also can't set off fireworks (Brazil) thus, the stage direction was difficult".

The 'K-Pop frenzy' is really going hard although not all countries in the world are giving response to this phenomenon. However, the K-Pop growth and potential it gives are noticeable. Yoon Doojoon optimistically said "It is true that the fans of K-Pop from every country are increasing. I've a friend living in Europe and (the interest in K-Pop) had been different than the previous years. Europe or Brazil seems most unlikely to give off that popularity. The beginning of it may seem weak but sooner or later it will able to catch up". Member Son Dongwoon said "If you wander off at the streets, many people tend to recognize. I think this is the foundation that our seniors have build. I believe if we work together, the light across is achievable".

The dice is thrown. BEAST agreed that this world tour will be their one step in agreeing that they will grow. Member Jang Hyunseung said "This will be BEAST's opportunity to grow" and agreeing to it, Yoon Doojoon predicted "The water is already spilled. We'll come back with satisfactory achievements. This concert is the room for BEAST to grow. This could be the opportunity where it will show us to develop as singers".

Eager Son Dongwoon then said that BEAST will hold on to their solid commitment, according to a quote of Helen Keller. "Helen Keller said 'nothing can change the fact, only I can.' We hope to achieve our best."

Popular 6-member group BEAST revealed their wishes and plans for Chuseok to fans and the public. Bowing politely and delivering humorous facial expressions, BEAST greets everyone in time for Chuseok.


▶What are your wishes for Chuseok?

Doojoon: BEAST’s growth and improvement, families and members, the health of fans, and world peace! Peace!

Hyunseung: To achieve brighter music activities and to grow more mature in music.

Yoseob: It’s simple, but the most important thing which is to wish everyone I love health and happiness.

Junhyung: I hope that we can be happy and healthy as we are now.

Kikwang: Aside from my mother, I wish for the health and happiness of the rest of my family and members, and that I can work hard and be the best in what everyone gives me.

Dongwoon: To those who know me and to those I know, I hope they can become happier than they are now as well as be healthy.


▶Your plans for Chuseok as well as Chuseok greetings for your fans

Doojoon: I think I’m going to spend a joyous Chuseok with my parents and members. I now know how important time is in spending with your family and I hope that everyone can get rid of their worries momentarily to spend a good time.

Hyunseung: I want to have talks with my family that I haven’t been able to and to play with the other members. I hope that everyone can have a lot of conversations with your family, and spend good quality time.

Junhyung: To spend a happy time with family for the holidays! For those who aren’t able to spend it with their families, I hope you can enjoy it still from your heart!

Yoseob: For this Chuseok, I have the motive of eating a lot of my mom’s delicious foods and get fat. Just thinking about it…wow! It’s going to be delicious (laughter). I hope everyone else can also gather around with family and eat lots of delicious foods while having good conversations; hope you spend a warm Chuseok.

Kikwang: Always happily! Healthily! And eat lots and lots of delicious foods! Also, don’t forget to think about BEAST^^!

Dongwoon: I think for this year’s Chuseok, we’ll be able to be good sons at home. So don’t worry about us and have a joyous time with your families!

Group BEAST are finely dressed up in their costumes to give fans a Thanksgiving greeting.

On the 9th, through their agency, they give out Chuseok greetings politely with pictures of them in handbook.
Member Doojoon said "Spending time with your family is the most valuable, even to all of you, all the time feeling troubled, throw away all those worries and just hope to have some fun".

Next Hyunseung said, "it's been a while being together with family, hardly ever time for a conversation, I also want the members to play and have fun. In those times, hope to spend more time with family". Junhyung advices "A big feast with family is what we can do together in order for a fun time, to those people who can't be together, just know that you're heart can still enjoy the fun".

Yoseob said wittily, "I have a plan that I want to eat a lot of food that my mom prepared this Chuseok". Kikwang encouraged by saying "always be happy, be healthy, eat many many anything that is delicious. Even we BEAST think of it that way, so don't forget".

Maknae Dongwoon said "For Chuseok this year, the sons, being a little thick, will be able to go back home. So, do not worry about us, please have an enjoyable time with your family."

[NEWS] 110818 "BEAST denied entry due to paper problems"

South Korean idol group BEAST put into situation that they are denied entry into Japan "South Koreans being refused entry is not because of retaliation from the members of Liberal Democratic Party". There has been a rampant speculation among the Japanese government about this matter. "The political dimension is rather simple as it's just a matter on paper" as it was about to clarify.

On the 18th, from a Japanese government official who requested to be anonymous, through the media, said "The visa exemption arrangement between these two countries is not targeted to (Korea) but just a misunderstanding and it was not 'political revenge' or 'Hallyu stars have more enhanced entry process' thus it is not relevant".

When they are refused entry at Haneda Airport Branch, third party officials of Tokyo Regional Immigration Bureau said "On June, also BEAST is without visa (when entering Japan) and they have problems in entering and so, 'next time they should just show the visa' and the promise has been made".

Then the inspector explained more "This time, they applied the visa in advance before the show but the agreement fell because it was not issued. But also because they tried to enter without a visa, they had to go back".
Regarding this, officials from Cube Entertainment said "As when going to receive the reward before going to Japan, the Japan's Sign Music Distribution of Universal Music Japan said 'I even go without a visa,' seeing the situation, he believed it was ok".

Officials from Universal Music Japan said "BEAST was not with their hosting company and so when we see their visa applications, there was a problem in resolving the issue. BEAST's hosting company said 'entertainer can enter without a visa' If this is the reason, they do not know well".

They added, "In the future, when we invite artists, even if you're not the one hosting the show, entertainers still need to have visa".

Officials from the Japanese Foreign Ministry explained, "For Koreans in Japan, if your visit is for sightseeing purposes, you can stay in the country for 90 days without a visa. Despite that, if you enter here with work relations, for example; entertainers, you need to have visa".

[News] United Cube holds their first concert in Seoul

Cube Entertainment artistes held a press conference before their United Cube Concert earlier today. 
Cube Entertainment representative, CEO Hong Seung Seong commented “I have been in the music industry for the past 20 years and finally my dream of a family label concert is being realized. Today we will be performing in Seoul. Soon, United Cube Concert will be scheduled for Japan. Concerts in South America and Europe are in the final stages of contract signing. After confirmation, we will quickly make an official announcement.”
BEAST, 4MINUTE and G.NA also had a chance to voice their perspectives regarding the United Cube Concert.

4MINUTE’s Hyuna: “I would have gained valuable experience after this concert.”
Solo Artiste, G.NA: “I would like to show a more mature side of me.”
BEAST’s Junhyung: “It was hard work rehearsing (for the concert) in the rain.”
BEAST’s Dujun: “We will begin this concert as amateurs and finish it changed.”

B2ST reveals their feelings on comeback concept

Recently, B2ST opened up in an interview with Newsen about feeling awkward with their new comeback concept.

“We just returned with ‘Beautiful’ after wrapping up our ‘Soom’ promotions. It hasn’t been that long so it feels like we’re just doing a follow-up promotion.”

Their fourth mini-album title track, “Beautiful,” is a song filled with love for their fans. B2ST stated, “The cute concept is still kind of awkward so we worry a lot. It’s fortunate that our fans enjoy it. ‘Beautiful’ is a fan service song made for our fans.”

The boys have had quite the busy year with “Shock,” “Soom,” and “Beautiful”. They concluded their interview with, “We’ll be ending the 2010 year with ‘Beautiful.’ Although it’s been a meaningful year, we will work hard to show newer sides of ourselves in the year to come.”

In the picture, the two groups held up each others’ CDs and smiled brightly with the victory pose.

BeBe Mignon member Ga-Eul tweeted, “We finished our first broadcast. I was so happy, I thought I was dreaming. It’s kind of disappointing, and an empty feeling as well. I don’t think I can describe it in words. It’s just thousands of emotions going through me at once. It was through everyones’ support that we were able to reach this point, and we’ll be sure to show everyone how hard we’re working.”

Meanwhile, Ben said, “I was very nervous since it was our first broadcast. I started crying the moment I got off stage. Since this is just the beginning, we’ll work even harder. BeBe Mignon, fighting”

And finally Hae Geum wrote, “Thanks to all of the people that fighting’d for us, we were touched all day long. I just thought about working harder all day, we’ll be sure not to lose our rookie mindsets.”

B2ST thanks their fans on their 400th day since debut

Six member idol group B2ST thanked their fans in celebration of their 400th day since their debut.

The group debuted in October 2009 with the album “Beast is the B2ST”, and went on to release their singles, “Mystery,” “Shock,” and “Breath“. They’ve recently returned to the industry with their fourth mini-album, which features the tracks, “Lights Go on Again” and “Beautiful.”

Fans left congratulatory messages on Twitter saying, “B2ST congratulations on 400 days,” “After debuting on October 16th, 2009, a year has already passed, and now it’s already 400 days,” “Please be with us ‘beauties’ until you die,” and “B2ST Forever!”

Member Lee Ki Kwang tweeted in response, “Whoa 400 days… Has time already passed this much. Please support us in the future.”

Yoon Doo Joon also posted, “400 days! Time is so fast… The days are getting colder so let’s stick together,” while Yang Yoseob stated, “We started the day early so this day will be long again, but thinking that we’ve spent the past 400 days fully, I’m not tired at all! Thank you and thank you! Please stay with us in the future as well, okay?”

In further news, B2ST will be debuting in Japan on the 27th of November.

B2ST’s “Lights Go On Again” places 1st on various music charts

Soon after Cube Entertainment released B2ST’s highly-anticipated 4th album,“Lights Go On Again,” it received the honor of placing first on various Korean music charts. Yet that wasn’t all.

Amazingly, the group managed to sweep up all top 5 spots on the charts – their main title track, “Beautiful”, came in at 1st place, while the album’s remaining four tracks nabbed 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th respectively. Furthermore, according to album sales site Hanteo, the group’s album sales also showed great success, as their sales figures ranked first.

Even during its composition stage, “Beautiful” was to be a song that could only fit B2st. Clearly that appears to be the case, as it’s helping the boys nab distinctions and honors left and right.

Nominees for the ‘25th Golden Disk Awards’ revealed!

The ‘Golden Disk Awards‘ has recently revealed their nominees for its 2010 awards ceremony, set to be held on December 9th at Koryeo University.

The awards show first began in 1986, and since then, it’s become Korea’s most prestigious awards ceremony for music. Nicknamed the ‘Korean Grammy Awards,’ the ceremony is known for its fair standards, as the committee utilizes figures from album and digital music sales only.

Due to such simplistic standards, the show is able to feature the truly successful artists that have received the love of the public each year, including the ‘indie’ or ‘underground musicians.

Wang Biho reins in the ‘B2ST’

Comedian Wang Biho targeted idol group B2ST as the latest victims of his wit for the October 31st episode of KBS 2TV’s “Gag Concert“.

Wang Biho opened up his skit with, “Why, if it isn’t Lee Ki Kwang and his children. I’d like to apologize for calling you guys a recycled group last time, and bringing up pictures of your past connections to 2PM and Big Bang.”

He trilled, “You guys won with ‘Soom‘ recently, didn’t you? Are you guys finally #1 idols now?”

Fans who are well-acquainted with the show recognize that Wang Biho always delivers a backhanded compliment. Thus, Wang Biho continued, “But it’s really more like someone finding something on the floor of a used-goods market and not knowing what it is. Later, the person realizes its value as a cultural asset. That’s how I feel about this group.”

Wang Biho went on to criticize the group’s military concept, “B2ST has managed to join the ranks of the ‘beastly’ idols with their new track. Do you think the broadcast hall is some kind of zoo? Why are everyone ‘beasts’ now? Try and go to the army first. Do you even know what a cartridge belt is?!”

Nominees for 2010 Mnet Asian Music Awards revealed

There has been much controversy over Mnet’s decision to hold their annual awards ceremony, “2010 Mnet Asian Music Awards“, overseas in Macau on Sunday, November 28th, as it angered the two TV broadcasters, MBC and SBS. However, Mnet is no stranger to such situations, and they have now revealed the nominees in the various categories for the extravaganza.

Despite supposedly “bad blood” between Mnet and SM Entertainment, SM Entertainment artists like Super Junior, SNSD, SHINee were nominated in the various categories released by Mnet on their official website. Mnet had said earlier in a press conference today that they had sent invitations to all entertainment companies, including SME and were awaiting a response from them.

Mnet plans to air the ceremony live through Hong Kong TVB, Singapore Mediacorp, Philippines GMA, Cambodian CTN in real time, in addition to its main Mnet channel. It will also air the show via satellite in North America, Oceania, and Europe and more will be revealed in due time.

B2ST welcomes you onboard B2ST Airline this December

December is a month which seems to be jam-packed with concerts by Korean artists, and among them will be idol group B2ST after an announcement by Cube Entertainment at the start of October.

Fans were no doubt delighted when Cube finally unleashed the concept for the concert, which will take place on December 12th at the Jamsil Stadium, through a promotional poster.

Through the promotional poster, we can see that they are going for a pilot concept as all six B2ST boys are decked in smart pilot uniforms as they welcome you the fans onboard the B2ST Airline, Flight No. 20101212 with the tagline, “LET’S PLAY. LET’S FLY B2ST!”

A representative from their company told OSEN earlier, “It will be held on a very large scale. The concert will be so entertaining that you won’t keep track of time. We already have many ideas flowing through our heads. The members are waiting very much.”

B2ST would have auditioned for ‘Superstar K’ if they did not debut

6-member group B2ST recently confessed during an interview that if they had not debuted under Cube Entertainment, they would have auditioned for ‘Superstar K‘ instead.

The members said, “If we didn’t debut under B2ST, we would have auditioned for ‘Superstar K’… Since we too have experienced trainee days, whenever we watch ‘Superstar K’, it always reminds us of our past. It makes us think back a lot to our trainee days.”

B2ST explained that although their trainee days were psychologically stressful, since they never knew when they were going to debut, they miss being trainees from time to time because of the fun times they had going out on weekends with friends.

The group also complimented on how talented the ‘Superstar K’ contestants were, saying, “All the contestants who were in the top 11 have immense talent. They are so good that sometimes we think about whether we could even get into the top 11 if we auditioned.”

They continued, “There is only one winner, but we hope that all contestants of ‘Superstar K’ are able to achieve their dreams.”

Meanwhile, B2ST made a successful comeback last week with their new track ‘Soom‘, from their 3rd mini-album ‘Mastermind‘.

4minute and B2ST to receive the Asia Influential Artist award

4minute and B2ST will be receiving an award at the 2010 Asia Song Festival.

Representatives of KOFICE revealed on October 6th, “4minute and B2ST were chosen to receive the Asia Influential Artist award.”

The award is given to artists that garnered the most attention in Asia for the year. 4minute and B2ST will be making an appearance at the awards event on the 23rd to give impressive performances.

4minute contracted with Universal and set out to expand their activities all over Asia. They’ve been earning much success so far by topping various music charts and earning thousands of new fans.

B2ST began touring through the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, and Japan this June while promoting “Shock“, and also earned the support of many. Their comeback album, “Mastermind,” has been sweeping the charts as well.

B2ST to release part 2 of “Mastermind” in November

B2ST’s CEO has personally revealed that B2ST has much more in store for fans in the coming months.  A special second installment of the “Mastermind” album, which will consist of entirely new songs, is in the works, as is B2ST’s first concert, which is currently set for December.

He wrote:

“B2ST’s 3rd minialbum is not just a simple comeback, but something that holds so much more meaning. B2ST has managed to succeed with just their talent alone after overcoming prejudice and hardship, much like a ripened grain that has gone through a summer of both sunshine and storm. It’s your support and love that has become their foundation, enabling them to become acknowledged.We will now be showing the two biggest plans that await B2ST as they stand before the starting line of their adventures.

If the ‘Mastermind’ released on September 28th and 30th is considered part 1, another part of it will be released in November. Part 2 is not just a simple repackaged album, but will consist of entirely new songs. We are working hard to make sure that the two albums properly capture the charms of the six members of B2ST.

Secondly, B2ST will be holding their first ever concert on December 12th. Since every moment spent with B2UTYs is precious, only the greatest performances will be prepared. Please come together for B2ST’s special stage.

B2ST prepares a surprise for fans at fan meet

After coming back with “Soom,” B2ST held their first fan signing for their 3rd album on October 2nd and performed a special guerrilla concert for their fans.

The popularity of the members was astounding as fans gathered early in the morning waiting for the members. B2ST responded with grateful, bright smiles and unending fan service.

B2ST stated that they were upset in not being able to see their fans often and came up with a surprise, on the spot decision to let each of the fans come up and take personal photos with the members.

Despite having a busy schedule booked right after the fan signing, B2ST and their agency representatives alike pushed everything aside in order to make sure that each of their fans were able to receive a precious, meaningful gift.

B2ST’s “Mastermind” managed to sell 10,000 copies two days after its release, bringing the group to the top of the charts for the second half of 2010.

The boys will also be performing their ballad track, “Clenching My Fists,” on the 3rd at SBS’s “Inkigayo.”

Leaving fans with no breath, boy band B2ST returned with their exciting third mini album ‘Mastermind’, and have started promotions with title track ‘SOOM(숨)/Breath’.

With their popularity overflowing, the group can now be called one of Korea’s representing idols. But how can you call them that when they didn’t even have their own concert yet?
