"Awww~ You're not reading that rubbish again, are you?"
Amy looked up at her friend.
"Ah, Ninnah~ It 's sweet...."
"It's so fake!" She laughed, taking the book her friend was reading.
She flipped through it.
"As if this stuff would really happen! Pfft!"
Amy shook her head.
"You never know..."
Her voice driffted off.
Ninnah rolled her eyes.
She couldn't win when it came to the sappy love stories Amy was always reading.
Ninnah was always thinking straight forward.
She knew how much chance there was of a handsome guy throwing rocks at her window late at night just to hear her sweet voice...
Zero!
Literally, Nothing in this day and age!
Now, if a guy liked you, he'd get his mate to ask for your number.
That was how modern boys handled things.
That's just how it goes~
"Ninnah!"
She jumped.
"Y-yeah?" she stuttered.
Amy giggled. "what were you thinking about?"
"Nothing!" Ninnah answered sharply, brushing the question aside.
She changed the subject.
"Back to reality, Amy! That handsome prince in your book isn't going to help with our science project, now, is he?"
She smiled and shook her head.
"Lighten up, Ninnah~" she said laughing.
"Okay, Okay!~ But we do need to get some work done, now!" Ninnah warned her friend.
Amy agreed. "As you say.."
The continued with their project.
It was meant to be a modal.
A modal volcano.
However, it didn't quite look like one and it didn't erupt....it just leaked out the bottom instead.
"Fail!" Amy chirped, almost crying in laughter, seeing the fizzy cheery-pop spreading all over the table.
Ninnah couldn't help but see the funny side.
She started to laugh, too.
Untill she saw her teacher shooting her an angry look.
'Oh god..." she though.
"Oh, hey, Ninnah!" Amy suddenly snapped as they were walking home, that afternoon.
"Yeah?" Ninnah said, not stopping.
"We're having this kind of family BBQ thi weekend. Even my cousins from Korea are coming over! And apparently he's bringing a friend..."
She trailed off.
"But that's besides the point!" she continued.
"I was wondering if you could come?"
"Me?" Ninnah asked, a little confused.
Amy nodded.
"I thought it was a family BBQ." She said.
"It is!" Amy replied.
"But you're like family, and seeing as my cousin's bringing a friend, i might as well, too. Just to destro any awkwardness!"
Ninnah didn't quite see her point in the matter but agreed to come anyway.
It sounded like fun to her, too.
Amy seemed very excited, so it must be something to look forward to.
The weekend didn't take that long to come around.
It was only wednesday when she was told.
Ninnah was going to Amy's house straight after school.
Both girls were over excited.
They were actually counting down the minutes in their last lesson.
They couldn't wait to leave.
When the finally got to Amy's house, there was a lot of chaos.
Her mother was running backwards and forwards from the kitchen with many different types of food.
Her father was setting up all the summer outside furniture and the BBQ.
Plus, most of the other quests had already arrived.
A rather tall boy with dark hair walked out the door, into the back yard where Amy and Ninnah were.
Another boy, with lighter hair, followed him.
"Oh! Ninnah, this is my cousin Hyun Seung. And his friend...." She paused, obviously not knowing his name, herself.
"Yo Seob!" Hyun Seung finshed for her.
"Yeah." she smiled.
"I'm Ninnah." She said to them both.
Hi, Ninnah!" Hyun Seung said.
"Nice to meet you!" continued Yo Seob in his cute Korean accent.
She smiled back, a little shy.
She looked at Yo Seob.
He seemed too cute to be a guy.
Throughout the day she got to know him as Yo Seob, Hyun Seung and Amy were the only people around her age anyway.
She seemed to get along quite well with the two Korean boys.
The BBQ was drawing to an end and it seemed most of the adults were tired or drunk, or both.
Ninnah said her goodbye to Amy.
"Come other tomorrow, Ninnah!" Amy said happily.
"What for?" she asked curiously.
"Well, Hyun Seung and Yo Seob are only staying here a week. Let's have some fun!"
Ninnah thought...
"It'll be great! We can go into town and see a film or something~" she continued hopefuly.
"Hmmm...Okay!" Ninnah finally gave in.
Amy smiled and hugged her friend.
"See you then!"
Ninnah walked home by herself.
But there was one person she couldn't get off her mind.
She shook her head.
It's just a stupid crush coming on.
Nothing special, nothing to come of it.
The next day she was over at Amy's house early.
She'd been told to be over at that time.
She nocked on the door.
Amy shouted out her bedroom window.
"Ninnah! Just come straight in!"
Ninnah opened the door and made her way inside.
She walked up the stairs towards Amy's room when she bumped into someone who had just come out of the bathroom.
"Oh!" Ninnah said, stumbling backwards.
"Sorry!" an innocent voice said, he reached out and held her steady.
She looked at his face and wet hair, It was Yo Seob.
Then she looked down...
He had no shirt on. And only a towell around his waist.
"Urrr.." Ninnah stuttered not knowing how to react.
Yo Seob had a sudden realisation of what he was wearing.
"Oh!" he said a little embarrrassed.
He muttered something quickly which Ninnah didn't hear exactally and then made his way speedly back to the spare room.
Ninnah blinked, still in shock.
She nocked on Amy's door.
"Come in!"
She did so.
"You ready?" Amy asked putting the final things into her bag.
"Yeah." Ninnah replied still in a trance, "But I don't think Yo Seob is."
"Huh!?" Amy turned to her.
"You've been talking to Yo Seob already?"
"We just bumped into each other. He was in the shower, I guess. He needs to get dressed..."
Amy was curious but didn't bother to ask any mroe questions.
"Let's go, guys!" Amy called up the stairs a little later.
The two boys came running down, obidiantly.
The four of them left for town and had a day shopping and went to watch a film at the cinema.
Yo Seob sat next to Ninnah at the cinema but she didn't speak a word to him.
He started to realise something was wrong.
"Hey, Ninnah~" He asked when they were walking back from the cinema.
Hyun Seung and Amy had walked ahead, caught in their conversation.
"Yeah?" she asked innocently, looking at him.
"Do I make you awkward?"
"No!" she answered a little too hastaly.
"Ah..." he said.
"It's not like that!"
"It's not?"
"No, I promise!"
"Okay..." He let out a slight smile.
However, it somehow seemed forced.
Ninnah seemed to bond with Yo Seob during the week that he stayed.
But when it was time for him to leave, she felt different.
She didn't want him to leave.
She knew that was true.
She just couldn't pin-point what, exactally, she was feeling.
It was different from what she had felt before.
Yo Seob found time for them to speak along before he left.
"Ninnah, It's been really nice meeting you, and spending time with you!"
Ninnah nodded. "Yes, it's been great!"
"I just feel upset..."
"About what?" Ninnah urged him on.
"That, maybe if I had chance to stay longer, we could have been more then friends."
Ninnah smiled weakly.
"Maybe that would have been nice."
"Maybe there's still..."
Ninnah thought. She knew where this was going.
"I don't belive in fairy tales." she said bluntly.
"Let's think about it for a minute. I like you, I'lll tell you that. But sadly, I don't think anything can be make of it. Not with this distance."
Yo Seob nodded, looking dissapointed.
"Okay, I understand."
"We're still friends, though!" She blurted, hopeing it wouldn't change anything.
"Of course! Well, I've got to go now. Bye!"
He gave her a hug and waved as he walked away.
Even though Ninnah's head told her she'd just done the right thing, her heart seemed to tell her otherwise.
Amy went with them to the airport to wave them goodbye.
Yo Seob whispered in her ear.
"I need you to help me!"
Amy was keen to help, "Yes?"
A few weeks later Ninnah woke up, like normall, ready for school.
She went down stairs and started to eat her breakfast.
"Here." Her mother said putting a envelope infront of her.
"It's for you."
Ninnah examined it.
who could it be from?
The envelope was pink and decorated in flowers.
It smelt nice, too.
She opened it.
The letter was hand writen, with neat hand writing.
She started to read through it and soon she realised what it was.
She covered her mouth in shock.
A love letter.
Just like in the books.
This was amazing.
And what made it even better...
It was from Yo Seob.
She grinned so hard, she left the table forgetting about the rest of her breakfast and ran upstairs.
She grabbed her school bag and hurried to school.
The first think she did was find Amy.
"AMY, AMY!"
She looked shocked at Ninnah's incredibaly happy mood.
"What is it?"
"Look!" She shoved the letter into Amy's hands.
She read through it.
She took a deep breath in, shocked.
"That's so cute!! He still think about you! All the way from Korea!"
"I know!" she squeled.
Yo Seob continued to send her the letters.
Every 2 or 3 days she'd recieve another.
Ninnah loved it.
She didn't know where Yo Seob got all he beautiful lines from.
They were truely heart-warming.
Suddenly, one day when she was reading her latest note, a line caught her eye.
'Remember, when your night comes today, run to him with open arms.'
Ninnah couldn't work it out.
She had an idea, but it was impossible.
She went to school as normall and returned.
Later that night she heard a noise when she was up in her room.
It was like a little banging on her window.
She frowned and walked over, to draw the curtains.
There was a figure standing down, below her window.
Pebble in hand.
It couldn't be!
Ninnah squinted.
Suddnely, she realised.
She ran downstairs and legged it out the front door before anyone even had chance to ask whereshe was going.
She ran over to the figure.
It was.
It was him.
"YO SEOB!"
She ran into his arms and their lips met.
"Do you still not belive in fairy tales?"
"No, This fairy tale became my reality."
