Recently there has been a trend of using long notes in many popular K-Pop songs.
While in the past they were used for a strong emotional sound in ballads, the use of the long notes has now spread to dance-pop. Songs such as IU‘s “Good Day” and BEAST‘s “Breath” are made so much more memorable with a powerful ending.
While we’re sure that many performers have the vocal ability to pull off long notes, these singers had them in a promoted track, meaning they had to continuously perform them flawlessly.
Of the 19 songs in the video, three are currently being promoted by their groups. In selecting the songs, all were promoted songs with notes over four seconds long.
