Q. If you get a vacation what would you like to do?
I want to travel by myself. Not too long ago we went to Jeju Island for a CM filming and it was so nice I wanted to spend a more relaxed time there alone. I have never traveled alone yet but I long for it quite a bit. If time allows me to do so I would love to travel the world as well!
Q. Ideal date course&girl?
Hm~... I can't say specifically but I can say that I don't think I'd go to the well known date spots. Because they (GF) could have gone their with a different guy and if they go there they might be reminded of the guy and that would worry me!? (laughs). I don't have anything specific for my ideal girl either but I like someone who is kind and smiles a lot in front of me.
Q. Recommended Korean place you would like to guide a Japanese girl to?
Seoul is nice but if I'm going to be guiding I would like to take them to the rural areas that you can't go to alone. For example at Bosung, which is a place famous for green tea, a green tea field or a sheep farm would be nice.
Q. Your secret to maintaining a "beautiful voice"?
Dryness is the worst for your vocal chords. I drink lots of water and eat honey as well. It's really sweet since I just eat it plain (laughs) but they say this is the best for your throat. In contrast I try not to drink things like coffee.
Yoseob's BEAST member introduction
Doojoon: Doojoon is like a comedian who likes to joke around (laughs). If he's there, the atmosphere in that place becomes much brighter. Also as a leader he properly acknowledges each member's strengths and compliments us, and when I'm having a hard time he gives me a lot of strength.
Hyunseung: To me he's like a monkey that does whatever it wants (laughs). Whenever I look at Hyunseung I always think [I need to look after him]. He makes me want to protect him.
Junhyung: Before he was like a mom that nagged a lot but now he's more like a worried student about to take an exam (laughs). In Korea he's acting in a drama and producing songs so he looks tired. When I see him like this I feel bad for him too but...hurry up and make songs! (laughs)
Kikwang: Kikwang is like a son who finds everything troublesome(laughs). He's slow when preparing himself, he walks slow, his every action is slower than regular people. When I see him being so laid back I think that maybe he was a queen in his past life (laughs).
Dongwoon: He's the youngest out of the members but in reality he's like the oldest son you can depend on. He's trustworthy and quick to catch on to things. When us hyungs are exhausted he massages our shoulders. Also the person who showed their support the most before I came to Japan was Dongwoon.
─ Your feelings when your Japanese solo debut was decided?
I was happy and very nervous at the same time. I debuted as a solo last year in Korea as well and while I promoted with BEAST I could calm my uneasiness and nerves as a solo I had to take that in alone and because of this there were many times when I felt lonely. However as I promoted by myself I once again felt how large of a presence the members were as they would always stay beside me and give me strength when I was tired and exhausted. All the members gave me support for my Japanese solo debut so I hope I can see good results and that stretched out to our future BEAST activities.
─ Member Junhyung produced your title song「Caffeine」yes?
Yes. Truthfully it was supposed to be a BEAST song but when I first heard it I thought to myself「I want to sing it solo」. So I carefully negotiated with Junhyung and got the song (laughs). The song itself is of course good but I hope you could pay attention to the various stage directions for the performances as well. If you think of it as "direction" for the stage more than a dance I think you will enjoy it more.
─ In the MV there are scenes where you are with a girl, how did you feel filming them?
I was so nervous I'm not even joking (laughs). Out of those scenes, in the scene where I was very close to the girl with the cardigan covering us, I was so nervous my hands were shaking a lot. I didn't think it would be visible but that hand was captured by the camera so it ended up as a NG (laughs). Besides that there were many scenes that I've filmed for the first time so the filming was continuous nervousness.
─ Finally a message to your fans.
I'm uneasy about my solo activities but I hope you give lots of love to me as well as this album. I hope you can support me!
